Office of the Dean and General Manager

The Office of the Dean and General Manager provides advice and support to both academic and professional staff in the Faculty. Human Resource Management such as staff recruitment, promotions and oversight of the Performance Development Framework (appraisal process) is located within the Office. The Office is also responsible for the development and oversight of the implementation of Faculty wide Strategic, Operational and Workforce Plans. Financial accountability for the Faculty rests with the Office as does management of the budget development process. The Office is responsible for oversight of Faculty governance and accountability structures – Faculty Board and Faculty Committees and for policy and planning development and advice.

  • Oversight of income generation
  • Oversight of student selection policies and procedures
  • Oversight of strategic, operational and workforce planning
  • Oversight of budget preparation and execution

  • Secretary to Faculty Board
  • Coordinator of Faculty meetings
  • Coordination of faculty-wide matters relating to the Dean
  • Dissemination of information on Faculty & university policies
  • Executive level support to the Dean
  • Administration of the Dean's Lecture Series

  • Executive support to the Dean and General Manager in development and management of projects and strategic initiatives
  • Drafting of Faculty reporting, policies and procedures
  • Coordination of Staff Confirmation and Promotion
  • Development of Staff Induction Program
  • Administration of the Dean's Honours Awards & Prizes Ceremony
  • Secretary to Faculty Executive
