I studied at the School of Architecture, Ahmedabad (India), followed by masters degree in computer-aided design at the Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh (USA), and doctoral studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich). I teach digital design studios, pursue research in computational design and participate in CRIDA: Critical Research in Digital Architecture.

RESEARCH

Advanced Computational Modelling Network in Built Environment (ARC LIEF infrastructure grant) in collaboration with RMIT and Deakin.

Digital Outsourcing (ARC Discovery research project) is aimed at understanding patterns of outsourcing in digital design practices, underlying factors that drive their success, and impacts on the architectural profession.

Digital Experiences of ‘Place’ (ARC SPIRT grant research project with Lonely Planet) seeks to create a theoretical framework for virtual heritage environments that are referential, evocative and interpretive.

Multiple Design Representations (ARC Large grant) investigates support for simultaneous translations between different design representations and their impacts on design inferencing.

CAEV Immersive Visualisation (University Matching grant) is a collaboratory for architectural and environmental visualisation using 7.2 x 2.4 mts. tiled display and offering 135 degree field of view.

Distributed Collaborative Design (University Special Initiatives Grant) investigated computational support for distributed teams of designers working collaboratively over the Internet.
