Note: for all book categories, the item must be a substantial work of scholarship involving pure basic research, strategic basic research, applied research or experimental development research, or a combination of these.

Publication Collection Categories and Forms — Books

Form A	A1	Authored research book	major work of scholarship, bound and offered for sale written entirely by single author, or joint authors who share responsibility for whole book
	A2	Edited book	edited book consisting of contributions from a number of authors
	A3	Revision &/or new edition	previously published book which has been brought up to date by substantial addition or alteration of material
	A5	Textbook	textbook whose target readership is university students (ugrad or pgrad)
	A6	Authored book (other)	book written solely by the author that cannot be classified elsewhere
Form A4	A4	Translated book	translation of an entire book authored by some other person

Note: for all conference proceedings, the item must be a substantial work of scholarship involving pure basic research, strategic basic research, applied research or experimental development research, or a combination of these.
