ABP's Researchers
ABP has an outstanding reputation for research in the wide range of disciplines involved in the planning, design, production and management of the built environment. Many of our researchers come from a background in professional practice and continue to take an active interest in the issues facing those working in the built environment professions today. Our understanding of these issues is the foundation of ABP's research strengths and of our relationships with industry partners.

Leverage Additional Financial Support
The initial contributions of ABP and our industry partners to a research project can be used to generate significant funding from other sources. Funding to support collaborative research between ABP and industry is available from the Commonwealth Government, private granting bodies and the University of Melbourne.
The most significant source of funding is the Australian Research Council (ARC), which, through its Linkage Project scheme, awards Commonwealth funding to support research and development projects that are undertaken to acquire new knowledge and involve risk or innovation. The Linkage Project scheme supports industry-led research projects and PhD scholarships and offers organizations the opportunity to leverage their research dollars by matching their contribution.
You will find examples of some of our current research projects and collaborations, including Linkage Projects, on our funded research page.
Other Ways Your Organization Can Contribute to ABP's Research
Your organization can also contribute to research by making gifts and sponsorships.
Major gifts can be made to individual research projects or to research scholarships and prizes.
Sponsoring a PhD scholarship directly contributes to the future of your profession by training scholars to the highest level who will lead the profession into the future.
Sponsoring a research prize will increase the profile of your organization among competitors and future graduates and the community.
