Digital fabrication technologies: analysing patterns of adoption and innovative transformations in architectural design and practice
Chief Investigator: A/Prof Bharat Dave

This project on adoption of digital fabrication technologies by Australian architecture practices will reveal emerging opportunities for creative design and associated transformations in the design practices. These outcomes will enable the increasingly globalising sector of architectural design services to become more agile and innovative. This research explores patterns of adoption of innovative digital fabrication technologies by Australian architecture practices. Specifically, the research will develop better understanding of (a) emerging opportunities for design and construction of non-serial architecture using digital fabrication technologies and (b) cascading transformations in established norms of design practice that follow adoption of such fabrication technologies.
