This project explores the possibilities created by removing the towers and replacing all housing on the site with buildings that vary in height from 4-7 storeys. The layout responds to the surrounding grid of streets to provide a walkable environment. A wide open space connects Gertrude St to the Town Hall precinct. In addition to water recycling, this space offers a variety of public recreational spaces and a dramatic increase in the provision of community veggie gardens.

The amount of housing is increased from 800 dwellings to about 2,180. This is equivalent to increasing the density from its current level of 130 dwellings per hectare to 360 dwellings per hectare. The new frontages along Brunswick and Gertrude Sts would be retail, commercial and community uses.
