Adding Printers – If a Printer is Missing On Your Computer
Usually, all the printers in 205 will be installed and available when you log in to the machines in the computer labs and in room 204. On occasion, the computer may fail to pick up the printers and you will need to install a printer manually so that you can send print jobs through to the relevant printer in room 205.
1. On the desktop, click the Start button, point to Settings and then click Printers and Faxes.

2. In the Printers and Faxes dialogue box, double-click the Add
Printer icon.
3. In the Add Printer Wizard dialogue box, click Next.

4. The wizard then requests a Local or
Network Printer. Check the box beside the option A Network Printer, or
a Printer Attached to Another Computer then click Next.

5. The wizard then requests you to Specify a Printer. Check the box beside
the option Connect To This Printer and in the Name field type \\abpserver2\. A drop down box will appear showing all
the ABP printers.
6. From the drop down box, select the
printer you would like to
add to your computer and click Next.

add any of the printers listed at the end of this document
7. The wizard then asks if you would like the
printer you just added to become the default printer on that computer. You
can select either the yes or no check
box, then click Next. If
you specify a printer as the default printer, the computer will
automatically print to it unless you manually select a different printer
when sending a job.

8. The wizard then specifies the details of the
printer you have just added. Click Finish.

9. The printer is now available to use on this computer.
