Project Description

The work contributes Australian case studies to the research project of the international VREF Centre of Excellence headed by Professor Harry Dimitriou. The project will investigate the criteria used in and processes for evaluation of transport mega projects internationally. A comparative methodology will be developed for comparison. Stage 1 of the project will be to contribute insights on ecological sustainability to an international review of evaluation criteria for mega-transport projects. The investigation of case studies (Stage 2) will begin in Year 2 and continue until the end of Year 4. The cases to be investigated are the City Link motorways in Melbourne, Sydney Harbour tunnel and the Perth MetroRail infrastructure projects.
