Wendy Morris

Wendy Morris

Director of Urban Design and Planning
Wendy is a highly experienced town planner, urban designer and facilitator.  She has been practicing across Australia and internationally as a qualified urban designer since 1989, after completing the MA (Urban Design) at Oxford Brooks University, UK.  For fourteen years prior to that she practised as a town planner, mainly within the Victorian Government.  Wendy joined ESD as a co-director in 1996.

Janet Rice

Janet Rice

Janet Rice has combined a professional career in the fields of environment and community with active and passionate involvement in community activities, being a Councillor of City of Maribyrnong; having a leadership role in the development of The Australian Greens Victoria, and being a parent.

Dr Moriarty

Dr Patrick Moriarty

Patrick Moriarty taught Civil Engineering at Dar es Salaam Technical College and carried out field research on low-cost housing for the National Housing and Building Research Unit from 1971-1977. Since 1977, his research interests at Monash University have been in the areas of urban land use and transport (both in Australia and Asia), and alternative energy. An important part of this research has been the climate change implications of different fuels/energy sources for transport and electricity generation.

Associate Professor Curtis

Associate Professor Carey Curtis

Carey Curtis is an Associate Professor in land use and transport planning at Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Western Australia. She is a Commissioner on the Western Australian Planning Commission, and also on the Transport Committee. Her research interests focus on sustainable transport and include the areas of transport policy, travel behaviour, travel demand management, land use and transport integration. Carey is a member of the Planning Institute Australia and the Royal Town Planning Institute, UK.

Jenny Donovan

Jenny Donovan

Jenny is an urban designer and planner. She specialises in urban design for environmentally and socially sensitive locations. Jenny has been actively involved in urban design, social and environmental planning and landscape architecture since 1992. Her experience spans the private and public sectors in Australia, Sri Lanka, Kosovo, the UK and Ireland.
Jenny has masterplanned numerous residential developments and prepared development guidelines for a wide range of urban and rural locations.
Jenny is the author of a number of articles in refereed academic journals on the social implications of design.
