Crystal attended the University of Waterloo in Canada where she obtained a Batchelor degree in Environmental Studies (Honors), a diploma in Environmental Impact Assessment and a minor degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. Crystal holds a Masters of Environment Degree, with a specialization in Sustainable Cities from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Under the supervision of Nicholas Low at the University of Melbourne, Crystal is currently undertaking her Ph.D. where she is exploring the extent to which advocacy-coalition groups have influenced transportation policy in both Melbourne and Vancouver since 1970. As a GAMUT research assistant Crystal has recently completed a report establishing the empirical grounds for addressing the strategic issues associated with forecasting the potential effects on GHG emissions resulting from shifts in transport mode.
