Why Choose Architecture Building and Planning at Melbourne?

Established in 1927, Architecture Building and Planning (ABP) is Australia's leading built environments school and now educates a diverse range of built environments professionals, including architects, construction managers, quantity surveyors, property consultants, landscape architects, urban designers, urban planner and workplace planners and designers. The excellence of our programs is built on high levels of interpersonal contact between staff and students and strong international links with similar built environments schools and leading international practice.

We are committed to educating well-rounded graduates in the built environments by providing students with a broad, intellectually rigorous and industry-relevant education.

Programs

Under the Melbourne Model, ABP will institute a clear division between undergraduate and graduate teaching in the built environments. Undergraduate teaching will now be encompassed in the interdisciplinary degree of the Bachelor of Environments allowing students to major in built environments specialisations as well as being able to study a wide range of other areas.

Graduate Entry Professional Programs will now become the pathway to professional accreditation in Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Property and Urban Planning.

Professional Development Programs in Building Surveying, Property Valuation, Urban Design, Workplace Planning and Design, and a general program in Planning and Design will seek to strengthen professional knowledge in specialised and advanced practice through current research trends, new design methods & techniques, multi-disciplinary approaches, industry and research collaboration.

Research degrees are available at Masters and PhD levels.
