My background is Architecture. I graduated with a Bachelor degree from the Department of Architecture, Architecture Faculty, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand in 2002.
What interested you in coming to the University of Melbourne? What attracted you to the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning?
Melbourne is a very fabulous city to live in and University of Melbourne is well-known in Thailand. Moreover, the lecturer from Melbourne University used to give the lecture to my faculty in Bangkok. Therefore, when I started to look for a University which I will continue my Master degree in Landscape Architecture, I found out that Melbourne University is a good choice for me. Then, I found that Melbourne University has a very nice atmosphere, good facilities and also good lecturers.
How are you finding your experience at the University so far? What are the highlights?
I would like to say that I'm really impressed by the atmosphere of the University, the facilities in the University, especially the library, and also the professors, the lecturers and the tutors. They always support and encourage me even sometimes when I got a problem in communication. I think it is a very good opportunity to study here because I understand more about the cross cultures, the role of Landscape Architecture in Australia and the trend in this country and also internationally. The education here is different from Thailand. Here they do encourage students to express themselves, think and talk more and do the experimental. Therefore, I really enjoy studying here in the University of Melbourne.
What are you planning to do when you have completed your studies at Melbourne?
I plan to get a job here and work for a couple of years before I return home. Because of Architectural and Landscape Architectural field, experience is very important. So, if I have a chance, why not?
What advice do you have for other students thinking of studying in the Faculty?
From my experience so far, I think here is a good place to study. The environment, the facilities, the lecturers and also the resources in the library is fantastic either if you are studying by research or coursework.
