MSD Summer Research Internships 2009-10

The MSD Summer Research Internship program provides an opportunity for coursework master's students in the Melbourne School of Design, who are undertaking a research project as part of their degree, to write up their research over summer 2009/10 for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.  Successful applicants will be paid a bursary for up to eight weeks and provided with office space and facilities to undertake any additional primary research and prepare their paper for publication. Successful applicants will be expected to conduct research full-time for the duration of the internship, to produce a co-authored paper under the continued guidance of their supervisor.

Eligibility

Students enrolled in a research higher degree (PhD, MPhil and other master's by research degrees) are ineligible to apply.  Students who completed their MSD master's degree in 2008 or earlier are ineligible to apply.

Value and duration

Interns will be paid a bursary of $500 per week for a maximum period of eight weeks, or until submission of the paper to a peer-reviewed journal, whichever comes first.  The maximum value of the internship is $4000.

Successful applicants will be expected to take up the internship during the period of December 2009 to February 2010.  The exact dates of the internship will depend on the supervisor's availability and can be negotiated.

Application deadline

Applications should be submitted to the ABP Research Office by 5pm, Monday 30 November 2009. Successful applicants will be advised by early December.
