Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning Melbourne School of Design

Environments and Design Student Centre

Welcome

The University of Melbourne introduced Australia's first studies in architecture in the 1860s and Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning established the first full-time architecture course in 1927. Since then, courses in other disciplines of the built and natural environment have followed and we now train leading architects, construction managers, quantity surveyors, property professionals, landscape architects, urban planners and urban designers.

The Bachelor of Environments is an innovative degree that will give you a through understanding of the factors that shape our environments. If you want an in-depth knowledge of your chosen specialisation, and the chance to learn through field trips, site visits and real-world project work, this degree is the ideal complement to your ambitions.
The three-year Bachelor of Environments is an outstanding introduction to a wide range of professional graduate programs offered by the University of Melbourne

In 2008, the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning launches the Melbourne School of Design (MSD), the first school in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region to offer graduate level programs across all of the built environment disciplines. The School's foundation in 2008 is the next step in the evolution of graduate level studies in the built environment at the University of Melbourne, which began more than ninety-five years ago with the formation in 1919 of the Melbourne University Architectural Atelier (MUAA).
