Disability Liaison Unit
Many people do not associate a range of conditions with having a disability. Disabilities can include specific conditions such as epilepsy, chronic fatigue, diabetes, dyslexia, long-term medical conditions, and mental health issues along with other traditionally identified conditions such as vision, hearing and physical impairments.
The University of Melbourne provides services that accommodate the needs of people whose disability adversely affects their studies through the Disability Liaison Unit (DLU).
The DLU can assist you with course related issues. Support may include:
- Sign Language Interpreters
- Notetakers (either enrolled in the subject and attending the same class or not enrolled in the subject or attending the same class)
- Access Support Workers
- Out-of-class Support Workers (which may include personal readers and exam scribes)
- Alternative Format Editor, and
- Alternative Examination Arrangements
For more information contact the Disability Liaison Unit (DLU) directly.
