Alternative Examination Arrangements
Students who have a disability or chronic medical condition, or who have a temporary disability or illness may be eligible to apply for Alternative Examination Arrangements (AEA). Students should register with the Disability Liaison Unit (DLU) and apply for an AEA at least 4 weeks prior to the exam period. If a temporary condition such as acute illness or injury arises, applications should be made immediately. Please note that students with fluctuating conditions may need to make new arrangements every semester.
Students will need to supply to the DLU, a copy of their examination timetable, available usually in May and October of each year. Once applications are approved, arrangements are coordinated by Student Administration and an Examinations Officer will advise each student in writing of their alternative examination arrangements.
If illness or injury (and other unforeseen circumstances) arise close to, or on the day of the exam, students should contact the AEA Office in their Student Centre immediately to arrange an alternative exam. Please note that forgetting the date of the exam or going to the wrong building are not considered grounds for an alternative examination.
