Masterplan and landcape design for an ecologically and environmentally sensitive resort, aimed at establishing a benchmark for tourism/holiday facilities in Victoria, by GHD, 2004

Postgraduate Diploma of Landscape Architecture, 2001
2004:
I'm a Landscape Architect for GHD, one of the largest and most diverse multidisciplinary design consultancies in the Asia-Pacific region. My recent experience has included extensive involvement in wetlands, residential development, public open space design, broad scale masterplanning and resort design. Water sensitive urban design and other sustainable strategies have directed the approach in which many projects have been designed in recent years. I am currently working on projects in Melbourne , Regional Victoria, Interstate and overseas in Papua New Guinea and Afganistan. These days I don't see many of the people I knew while I was at The University of Melbourne, but many of my peers studied there in the 5-10 years before I did.
When I first left university:
I was a Landscape Architect for an engineering firm that specialises in residential developments. I commenced work part time while still studying. It was a great grounding in the technical side of the profession while enabling me to approach uni projects from a professional standpoint.
What I remember about my time at ABP:
The trip with Catherin Bull to Canberra for the subject 'Perceptions of the Australian Landscape' was not only interesting but the associated project allowed us to explore alternative media and design directions to express our chosen topic. |
