Robert Buckmaster
Bachelor of Town & Regional Planning, graduating with Honours 1987
2004:
Work as a property analyst with an Australian Stock Exchange-listed fund management group (OFM Investment Group). I am primarily responsible for financial and risk analysis of potential property acquisitions, analysing the property market, modelling alternative investment vehicles and monitoring the performance of the group's existing property portfolio.
When I first left university:
Working as a property manager within the Property Division of the AMP. From there I went on to work as a property researcher with Knight Frank and continued in that field moving into the role of research manager at Jones Lang LaSalle and later at valuation practice LandMark White.
What I remember about my time at ABP:
- Learning the history and philosophy of town planning.
- Exposure to the realm of ideas in fields such as urban sociology and urban economics.
- Gaining an understanding of the inter-relationships of built form.
