Matthew PlumbridgeBPD(Building) and Bachelor of Building (now Bachelor of Property & Construction), 19942004:Superintendents Representative for the new CH2 (Melbourne City Council Head Office) on Little Collins St. When I first left university:Worked for Kane Constructions on a variety of schools and Universities including 3 years spent at Monash Caulfield managing the construction of two DCM designed projects. What I remember about my time at ABP:Writing sketches and performing in the Architecture Review in 1992 and 1993.
Chris KakoufasBachelor of Planning & Design (Building), 19952004:Working for Cbus Property (subsidiary of Cbus superannuation) as a Development Manager. Currently responsible for the redevelopment of the Herald and Weekly Times building. A $200m+ project including 45,000m2 of commercial space and 61 residential apartments within the heritage façade. When I first left university:Worked as a Site Engineer for Fletcher Construction Australia. More so started out doing a lot of copying, achieving, defect rectification on a CBD apartment project before shortly after completing my first solo project (without any experience) on the Sheraton Hotel. $170k project reconstructing their front entrance while they were still operating. It was also my first experience with the CFMEU, when my colleagues tried to set me up (in jest) with a site issue. What I remember about my time at ABP:After previously completing a Bachelor of Economics, a highlight for me was studying something that made sense. The practical components were most enjoyable and gave me a good elemental background to the building process. |
