Exhibition: Australian Crime Fiction
4-11 April 2008, Wunderlich Room and Concourse, Ground Floor, Architecture Building
702-302 Architectural Design 3A (Dr Derham Groves)
705-609 Landscape Masters Studio 1 (Dr Andrew Saniga and Danius Kesminas)
This exhibition showcases exploratory work of 3rd year Architecture students and Masters of Landscape Architecture students undertaking simultaneous design studios with a shared theme of 1960s and 1970s-era Australian crime fiction. Both Architecture and Landscape Architecture studios utilize the narrative of the Australian crime fiction novel as a tool for stretching the boundaries of creativity and design.
Over the course of the semester these ideas will be built upon as further research and exploration develops the themes into a final project to design a building or landscape that is based the narrative of Australian crime fiction.
The genesis of this studio comes from collaboration between Derham Groves and Andrew Saniga and Danius Kesminas.
