Environments & design student centre & learning spaces

first floor plan

The design of the new Student Centre in the Baldwin Spencer building will provide an intelligent demonstration of the creative potential for adaptation of a significant heritage building, making the most of its existing architectural qualities while taking advantage of the opportunity for new uses.

The design will focus on elegant yet economical and simple spaces for staff and students, with robust furniture and fittings providing comfortable yet exciting spaces for both students and staff.

The fitout will use expressive detailing and materials, articulated in clever ways to show how new and old work together. Furnishings and décor will reflect an appropriate mix of contemporary youth and international culture.

The re-envisioned interior of the building will create an inspiring range of learning spaces for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Envirnoments and the Melbourne School of Design.

Follow progressive works of the Baldwin Spencer Building over the coming weeks.
