Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace (EOWW)
Whilst women's participation within the workforce has increased substantially, workplace barriers still impede their progression and opportunity to reach their full potential. As a result, women remain underrepresented at senior academic levels and in senior decision-making positions across almost all Faculties and Departments of the University. The University of Melbourne is committed to equal opportunity for its female staff.

The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is also very committed to equal opportunity for women in the workplace. This includes all women staff - academic as well as professional staff, permanent and casual staff, and staff who work part time and full time. The faculty has a designated EOWW coordinator, AnnMarie Brennan. Staff are encouraged to raise equal opportunity issues with the her as well as their own supervisory staff. In the faculty EOWW issues are formally discussed 3 times per year at the Faculty Executive.
